Honor Guard
Our VFW Post provides three main service to the community. Color guards can be seen utilized in national holidays such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day. They can also be used for special community events, IE: local business dedications or military retirement ceremonies.
In the matter of funeral details the U.S. military, either Active Duty, Reserves and/or National Guard, sends a team of the decease’s military branch to provide a casket flag, folding of the casket flag, and presentation of the flag to the family. If the military can not preform the requested honor, we are available to step in and honor our departed comrade.
Another service provided is an Honor Guard for recently deceased veterans. They would consist of a firing squad, with up to seven members, and a bugler who plays taps. We can preform these duties at any location such as graveside of the cemetery, stationed outside a funeral home, or other public venues.
