On 02 May 2026, VFW Post 805 and thousands of VFW Posts around the globe participated in the annual Day of Service. We joined an organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) Chapter IL-Metro East of Fairview, Illinois and made over 20 beds for children within St. Clair County, Illinois that had to find other means for a bed. After the fours of using woodworking tools and jigs, we were able to hold your heads up high knowing children in our home county can finally have a comfortable place to sleep. We would like to thank our VFW comrades from East St. Louis, Illinois and the miracle workers of SHP for another day of community service. See you next year!
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is located at Grace Church 5151 North Illinois, Fairview Heights IL, 62208
